Think it is great that HotBodies are making a further commitment to Nitro On-Road racing with the R8. A similar marketing ploy to what they did last year in the lead up too the Worlds with the R10. A similar theme has carried over from the R10 by the looks, but they have included a radio box that looks a similar design to the one Mugen use on the MTX5.

At bit late though and off timing now that Hara is out of HB and not driving the car. The fact HB still using Hara's name for their marketing is kinda off.

They are not using Hara's name. The car is not mentioning anything about Hara.
The engine with Hara's print on it is an old sample. This is a test car of an HB driver and apparently they only use this engine for the first runs.
This engine was introduced in early 2012 right after the WC in the US.

I have been a HPI/HB fan for years. This is just another offering (along with their R10), to help to fix the reputation of having products that are considered parking lot bashers. The orange annodizing stands out (and is better than the purple they use to offer). Just curious on the kit's pricing (as it compares to the others current in the market). Needing to get a new car due to my Mugen MRX4R is long in the tooth.

They had the HPI Proceed quite a few years ago. Tried one and it wasn't much good - hopefully this one might be better!!

I know what you mean. I had the R40 and it was okay for club racing but very heavy as far as big time racing (mine out of box was 1900g!!!). It was a good car for big races if you spent the price of another kit for all the extras you needed to make the car perform and shave the extra heft. Only time will tell.................
