I understand it is now a joint venture between AMain and Absolute Hobbyz who both don't seem to have much at the moment.
I had hoped things would improve when Neidhart S.A. took over

Things are a little worse at the moment since Hobbico (Tower Hobbies) lost the distribution in the USA for Hot Bodies.

I think the HB onroad cars were a bit trashed after the split up of HPI and HB. For sure all electric drivers of the Pro-5 left

That's too bad, it looked like a decent car. The 1/10 scale looked good too. Their kits are of good quality, I wonder if TM in Taiwan is the manufacturer they use. I see some similarity to TM cars from the past. The kits packaging is similar too.

Unsure who makes plastic parts, but the rest comes from a World championship winning brand from HK for both the R10 and R8.

You might be right. I almost bought one, but it's just too risky if not getting a great deal. Even then, it may be an issue and not worth it with parts availability, etc. HB is doing a number on themselves. The distributor is slow and isn't replenishing their dealers in a timely manner. They seem to only be putting a half ass effort into off road and nothing on road.
