Default Attention Track Owners - Help Needed - Recommended Asphalt Sealing Technique

OK, i'm trying to do a little research for my local track owner on successful sealing of existing asphalt tracks. He's fully aware that new asphalt is the ideal situation, but it's a private track on private land and it's just not an option at the moment. So don't suggest new asphalt please. Traction isn't exactly the problem. The track is "relatively" smooth. There are only 2 bumps that are noticable on the track. But they're managable Tire wear is the main concern and what the owner wants to improve. What I want to hear is the successful stories/results/details of track owners have done to seal their asphalt tracks. Let the stories begin. Thanks in advance.

One word, Tarmac. Coat that stuff on and voila, should work wonders. Get ready for the smell during the first couple weeks.

Contact the following company.

Gardner Asphalt Corp.
4161 E. Seventh Ave.
PO Box 5449 Tampa, FL
Phone: 813-248-2101
Fax: 813-248-6768

They make the sealants you need. I saw it used to seal Fort Myer's track, and we did it to our track here in Peru and it is perfect and not expensive. In their web site they have a "how to" guide, and recommend products.

Yes coat the track with the sealant.

Then get VHT and spray that on the track. Works wonders. You can get vht online and almost anywhere. If you have trouble finding it. Call Orlando SpeedWorld or SuperHobbies , they both use it. Orlando speedworld is a real drag strip and superhobbies is a hobby shop that uses it at their events.

Ask them where they get theres if your having trouble finding it.

But the stuff is amazing. Has a neat smell too.

Gonzo

If you know Maxy form Maxy's Fuel, get in touch with him. Actually it was him who took me to Frt. Myers a couple of years ago to the Winternationals, and we saw how they sealed the track with Gardner's sealant, and we did the same down here.
He knows perfectly well what and how to do it.
