using 9 volt battery ???

Has anyone tried using a 9 volt battery as their receiver pack? I'm trying to reduce weight on my nitro tourer. By switching my 5 cell, 1100 mAh NIMH pack to a regular household 9 volt battery, I can shave 50 grams off my car.

The only problem of-course is, will 9 volts fry my receiver and servos?

Go to tower, and check your servo's specification for the max voltage allow....
6 cells 7.2V is a risk already..........think about 9.0V
Your safer solution, change them to AAA size like all the high end TC ro 1/8th cars are using right now.....I think there are some AAA are around 1000mah already...

even if the 9V battery didn't fry the receiver and servos, it has only 170mA capacity, it may work for qualifiers, not mains.
