These are the on-site technical specifications;

Scale: 1:7
Length: 689 mm
Width: 250 mm
Wheelbase: 452 mm
Engine: GX-21
Engine capacity: 3.5cc
Fuel tank: approx 95cc

With almost 70 cm in length, it really looks quite impressive...

As a side note, the F1 decals on 1/8th scale made by Brad Palmer suite rather well for anyone who may consider applying any other look to the car rather dress it as a RB7.

A nitro 7th scale F1 car like that, properly done by Ofna, Serpent or somebody, would be awesome.. The sound, style and speed of the car would be a really neat match.. Imagine a 3-speed in one with a nitro screaming at 35k RPM's.. Would be pretty awesome..

Serpent did a beautiful one. The F180 .21 powered. The thing was beauty. And it handled

Why did people not buy the Serpent F180?

By the time I was able to consider buying one, they discontinued them??

Sales must have been slow to non existant .... just guessing really.

I love F1 and really do not like the Pan-Car style of car we predominantly have at the moment. If there was a viable F1 at 1/8, 1/7 scale in nitro I would love to race it.
I do have a 1/5th scale F1 which is cool but to build and modify it to a scale standard of build I wanted to see it was going to cost a small fortune.
Still very cool to run though and I'm still glad I have it.

Just my thoughts is all.

Regards

People did not buy the Serpent F180 at the time because it was very pricey (somewhere between $1000 and $1500 depending on where you bought it). It was the only car of its kind at the time and not many racers where interested in nitro F1 cars or racing when the car was out. Also, replacement parts were not easy to come by at the time.

That really is/was too bad. Sounds like it was a little ahead of it's time.

Yes, it was. Had a former buddy that had one; the car looked sweet. Thunder Tiger came out with a sad-sack 10th scale version back around 2004-2006 or so; broke easily, parts were impossible to get, and it was overly priced.
