I think it's a pureten or pureten mkII. It's been so long I can't remember exactly. My first few TC races ever were with a heavily modified one a friend let me run. Pretty good car for the time period.

Ah thanks a bunch mate, hoping to restore it and tune it up, i'm relatively inexperienced with nitro RC cars, do you know the scale of the car?

Thanks for your help!

Looks like a battery pack? But that's where the throttle/brake servo is mounted, and the receiver is normally mounted on that rectangular plastic piece with the two big holes. Post a pic taken from the other side, maybe I can get a better view.

Hey, sorry for the late reply! Yeah i'll get that picture for you when i get the car on Tuesday, that is the Ebay picture
I get the distinct impression that i will need new servos, it doesn't come with a controller so maybe a new receiver too? is this car 2.4GHZ Desperate to get this up and running. Apologies electronics and frequencies have never been my strong point

Thanks everyone

Hey!

The car arrived yesterday, that orange box was a battery compartment which had melted!, This seemingly has affected the right rear tyre because the shoulder has melted itself onto the car, which is tedious to fix. I removed the air filter, engine, fuel tank, receiver and basically everything else lastnight to remove all the melted plastic
lucky for me it seems not to have effected the throttle servo located next to it, the engine seems fine, haven't run it yet though.

Hmmm... I guess now we know why the seller took the photo from the left side. Sounds like you've got some work ahead of you. Good luck with it. Post your progress.

Yeah! I just tryed to upload photos but i need a certain amount of posts for that apparently, anyway i have removed the knackered tyres, removed the melted battery box and cleaned the car out, the tyre melting was the exhaust i believe i cant think of anything else that could do it, anyway i'm replacing the fuel lines, rims, tyres and getting it a body. Hoping to turn this into a nice little drift car
