Hm, well RedRC said it was their first but the wiki shows Piccos winning in 81 and 83 as well.

The weather was fine, the facility very pretty and driving was spectacular. RedRC for transcoding, uploading, a lot of work and as usual the 11th driver did a brilliant job on chase cam.

Congratulations to the Japanese drivers, strong representation and great results. Upholds a stong tradition of their participation in the world of RC model car racing.

Now back to the last 15 minutes..

There was a driver on the pre-worlds with a new STS engine, did he run the worlds also?

RedRC doesn't list one on their engine stats:

Picco motors were very dominant during the end of the pan car era, and Arturo Carbonell was one of the top drivers running them, and subsequently won a World Championship with a Delta Super-J/Picco setup.
