Default STS Hand-mod engines.

Hi, I would just like some feedback on the quality of these engines if anyone had ran one. Doesn't look like a bad engine.

A friend of mine is running a non-modified turbo version in his V1R and I can tell you it's very fast. and tuning was easy. It actually can pulled away from MT-turbo like nobody business just after running it in. Fuel consumption was also very good.

I can tell you from experience that the Turbo non-mod is an amazing engine.

My friend runs the handmod version and it flies. It is a great engine.

The only issue I found was quality issue. I had a loose carb. But then that was with my engine. It may not be with all packaged engine.

Wait until the 5 ports come out. The 3 port rival the NovaRossi 3 port Turbo. Now that the NovaRossi came out with 5 ports, STS is coming out with one too.

Good luck!

I ran a prototype at our State Championships in January this year.
The engine performed very well and was competative with the JPs and such.

Looks a lot like Team CRC's new engine.

The engine should be relatively cheap, as to availability, I'll get back to you on that.

STS is based in Taiwan.

They have 2 variant of the .12 and a new 5 port variant coming out soon.

The 2 available now is one being standard turbo engine and the other being hand modified.

The hand modified one are listed at 1.35HP. From what I have seen, the engine does have 1.35HP but it tends to have it in the high end. Low end torque is a bit less than the NovaRossi but on a big track the STS can blow away the NovaRossi.

The engine is relatively inexpensive because it is still new to the North American market.

My friend is selling the hand modified for $250CDN. I would assume the engine to be around $150-$175US I guess.

I am waiting for the 5 port version. It is estimated to have around 1.5HP.

And yes Team CRC is the North American distributor for these engines. If you check out the STS RC site, it indicate Team CRC distribute the engine. Team CRC may have a different branding but it is the same engine.

Default STS 12 same as Mugen MT 12?

Hi Guys,

Anybody using these STS engines & inline pipe.

They are based on the MT12, I think.

STS .12 & a STS RS .12 which has been 'modified'?

Website: http://www.teamcrc.com/

Go to the online store - STS products - car, engines, pipes etc.

Has anybody run a Mugen MT12 & STS 12 in the same car, not at the same time that is!!

How do they compare?

All the best
