Interesting. I'm not sure I like how they have the radio "pod" hanging out the right side like that - way out exposed. It extends a long way outside the chassis. It's like their spreading the weight out. . .but the tank is going to change the weight. . .

Just found this thread guys..

I want to clear a few things up. The Fusion .21 and the Fusion R12 are not the same car.

The .21 is a single belt extreme fun sedan and the R12 is a race car.

The R12 uses a modified Mission drive train. It will come with an all new adjustable 2 speed with interchangeable spurs and clutchbell pinions. The suspension on it right now is off of the Fusion which is a heavily modified Mission suspension. This is on the car to get it running and may or may not make it to production depending on testing. The drive train is very free and the car is way light for IFMAR rules (like the NTC3).

This car will be a 2nd gen Nitro sedan like the NTC3 not a 1st gen car (shrunken 1/8th cars) like everything else.

We are testing the heck out of the car now...stay tuned.

As for avalability, I dont think it will make it out this year. Most likley Spring 2003.

Adrian - this car is 2nd Generation with the NTC3 and everything else is 1st! too funny.

I don't see the need to down other designs to create hype around your car. If it's good and it's reliable for the 95% of racers that aren't factory sponsored and can't drive 45 minutes without touching anything it will sell without all that.

I think we will see very soon with the mtx-3 if 1/8 scale technology works well in 200mm.

If I had to choose between a 200mm car based on 1/8 nitro engineering as opposed to an electric car with a nitro engine slapped in it....

Patella - you're spot on! How much of this is supposedly NOT 1/8th derived?

Pivot (pillow) balls? 1/8th derived.
Forward swept wishbones? 1/8th derived.
Upper and lower A's? 1/8th derived

Oh wait, it doesn't have these things. . .hmmmm. I guess it really IS first generation. . .

patelladragger-Sorry if I misworded my post. The NTC3 was the 1st of the 2nd Gen Nitro Sedans.

I did not mean to slight Mugen or Serpent or any other nitro sedan manufacturer. Their cars are amazing pieces of mechanical art. However, they are based on older/adapted technology. New cars like The NTC3, R12 and others you havent heard about yet are finding new solutions to old problems/compromises.

Boomer-The Fusion dosen't have pillow balls but that point is moot as the suspension you see in the pics will most likley not be what is used on the production car.

The design on the NTC3 is nothing new, just compare it to the old Tamiya "1:8" TGX and the TG10....they look 98% the same, except for the pivot ball sus.
