I own MTX3 prospec and I have driven my friend's RRR.

Get RRR , the car is so comfortable to drive with confident feeling to win.

This is what I feel when driving my friend's RRR : I feel the car is "hugging" the road, less nervous, and more confident with high speed turns.

In contrast, I feel my mtx3 prospec is more nervous and less confident to take corners at crazy speed. Definetely it needs lot's of correction input from the driver.

Anything else ?

Asw7576,
I am surprised as I feel the Mugen is the smoothest and easiest car to drive. I guess it's all in the set-up.

If you want to look at the worlds result then look at the whole picture. A majority of the drivers picked the rrr as the car to use and the finals was dominated by the RRR.

Default the whole picture

yes i agree the rrr was the dominat car , you dont think if ITO would hve made it to the worlds finals with the fwo5, that he would be a strong contender ,with his driving skills an his setup.my buddy has two rrr but he seems to go back to his fwo5r which he has 2 of them. just my 2cents

I'm interested in the R40 too. Tower Hobbies has them on sale for $264. What are the characteristics of the car and how much different is the Hara edition?

the r40 sell by tower is the regular version that is so basic and requaire many upgrade. no 0.8 pitch gear, not one-way and the centax is nightmare
Hara edition is kind of like a prospec. have lot of hopup and for sure the price is much higher. they are not sell in US, probably you have to get it from oversea store.

the stock r40 isn't that well build compare to rrr, mtx3 or 710. also the plastic isn't that durable and the screw sucks even the car is beefy due to that massive amount of plastic.

IMO, i think it is better to get rrr or mtx3 maybe mtx4
710 is a good choice too (that is my current ride )
they may be a bit pricy but they worth it
that is my 2 cents

...... then you haven't fight in national or international level. Kyosho RRR WC is just different animal in race track.

Don't get me wrong..... I own 3 mtx3 propspec, I like them because of quality and performance reason.

LEts compare the maintence cost. IMO i think R40 is cheaper to maintain compared to RRR WC. Look at their carbon composite arms for hpi it comes with front and rear arm and even the wheel hub. RRR pinion gear wear rate very high i have seen my friends changing 2 pinion for one race. i must admit R40 plastic is softer for some parts. As for setup RRR is more idiot proof, R40 has setup to do and more fine tuning of setup can be make. ONE thing is the wheel base can be shorten and lengthen according to the track requirement. MOST important is THE support of spare parts for the car.
Just my view... SORRy if i offend anyone.
