The chassis looks fantastic! Unfortunately the bulk of what is being run as well as the rules here in the states are based on buggy or shaft driven chassis...

For Ipanema Sports racing, there is a class for the belt-driven GT cars called the Unlimited Class. Same rule guidelines as their Open Class cars and if a racer with a shaft-driven car wants to take on the belted cars, he/she is free to compete in this class.

Wow! Great to know BMT is back!

I hope you have plans for a 1/8th on-road chassis. I am a huge fan of the the 933 Austin Light and the 95R.

All the best in your new venture and look forward to hearing more good news from BMT.

Looks very good but without 2 speed gearbox is practically useless here.

No, the belt-driven car is not really allowed in GT racing in the US with the shaft-driven cars. However, Ipanema Sports decided to create a class specifically for the belt-driven car such as the BMT called the Unlimited Class for their racing. Their class is open to all belt-driven GT cars on the market and for anyone with a shaft-driven car that thinks they can hang with these single-speed beasts. I have seen videos of a buddy of mine in Finland running one with a high-powered onroad engine and even with a single-speed, it is still fast as heck.

Yeah, I would say this will be NO GO in the USA. No belt driven & no Centax clutch allowed in our GT class.

Good luck!

Don't know if there is a US distributor for this car but you can order it from one of the Euro r/c websites. I believe the street price translated from the Euro currency is somewhere around $500 for the rolling chassis, no tires or body.
