Yokomo GT4 RTRII Not run for over a year - advice

Hello

I bought a GT4 over a year or more ago now and i would like to start using it again. I only used it a few times when i bought it and i was in the process of setting it up to run correctly with the air/fule. I got busy and now i would like to try and get some use out of it, what do i need to do to get it running again

i've not touched it yet and thought best to ask some people who know :)

should i strip the engine and oil everything?

:s

plz help

just put some oil in it 1st, from top & in carb, then trun it with your hand few times. That should be good enough.

Great Thanks

can i use normal oil?

Not (car) motor oil, 3 in 1 oil or after run oil is a good choice. You can find 3 in 1 oil at hardware store or after run oil at your LSH.

how about WD40 for the rest of the car, like all the little metal bits and bobs.

Also what is 3 in 1 oil exactly, when i go to ask what will they know it as or used for?

thx

Go to Home Depot or Lowe's they have it & is called 3 in one household oil. You can find it by tool Dept. at Low's.
You have to know how to use WD-40 on RC cars, so do not use it. Just clean the car with compress air, if you do not have it just let it go or get some kind of cleaner at your HLS.

ok i found some

3 in 1 all over the can lol

thanks guys

so i just take the glow plug out, add a few drops and then pul the pull cord a few times to make sure everything is oiled inside

Can i then go buy some new fule and start it up?

Thanks guys

anyone?

actually, i would just pull the glow plug, and air filter, fill the motor with nitro fuel, and let it sit a day, the 3 in 1 oil will re lube everything, but when a engine sits it builds varnice (sp) the nitro fuel will cut this build up and also clean and lube the engine at the same time, after letting it sit, turn upside down and slowly turn engine flywheel by hand to flush out fuel and make sure engine isn't froze up. now, give it a couple of quick pulls to make sure engine is cleaned out, install glow plug and have fun, don't forget to put in fresh reciever and transmitter batteries.
