Some things in life you just can't change...and THE FORT would be one of those. No change!

Default Reading is fundamental

Seems to me that most of the responses agree that small changes "improvements" could be made to increase the lap times in order to be nationals compliant. That is exactly what Jim is saying, he didn't say change the track just 2 key areas. A new feature if you will.

Lets get beyond ourselves and think bigger, a nationals at the fort, a new challenge everybody wins!!!. IMO this would level the playing field as everyone would need to adapt.

Someone will have a new track record

Can you put a layout of the proposed changes to the track?

At least, don't change the layout. I could think of a few improvements that could be done in a couple of areas but the layout is absolutely brilliant.

I don't understand the "too fast" argument. In terms of area, this is one of the smallest tracks 1/8th ever runs on. Any tighter or more technical layout in that space would be impossible to get around. If it's just laptimes they are worried about, just don't spray it. That drops the times about half a second or more.

I've been to this track only once, ever since that first time I've been trying to get back, but living in SoCal makes it hard. You couldn't hold the Winternats at any other track, it wouldnt be the same. That track makes you a better driver.

Jim, is it possible for you to elaborate on exactly what ROAR requires? Do they have a minimum laptime they are looking for or something?

The reason I ask, if it's just a laptime thing, I could think of a minor and TEMPORARY tweak or two that could slow it down to maybe 12.5 or so for just one event. While I really don't think it is necessary, if ROAR wont budge it might be fun. I definitely would not want to see any major or permanent changes.

Who doesnt want to have a 12.0 lap at the Fort !!??

Hell ROAR is talking about the best in the nation. You dont have to change the track to slow them down ... dont spray it with traction compound.

ROAR gets what they want and we get broken cars ??

ROAR needs to wake up! When it comes to Nitro Onroad what track in the US is better known and respected the Fort Myers ??

DONT CHANGE A DAMN THING !!! Who do we call at ROAR to tell them how WE feel

Default FORT NATS FOR ROAR

If you want a ROAR NATS RACE make small changes to meet there rules, but make it so u can convert back to Fort now. But do u want ROAR RACE NATS? seems like what ever they run turns to crap and always fights from members with some insane rules they have made, you at FORT AND GLC IN OHIO are best run races with out roars help. How about a AMERICAS Race added to fill gap if u would like to, bet get more racers then roar would allow and better show. just my bthoughts.

Another thing that comes to mind, not many tracks want to deal ROAR when it comes to Nationals anymore from my understanding. They don't give much to the club during ROAR NATIONALS. I believe ROAR treats tracks this way because people bend over for ROAR for one ROAR NATIONAL event. Once it is over ROAR could and would care less if the club survives after that. Also, how many tracks are left that can hold a On Road Nationals? Let's ask them to bend for a change. IMO

Thanks Drew

Default NO and NO

It's ROAR benefit to have it at The FORT. So for once I think they should be able to deal with the sub 12 second laps.
