There's usually not a whole lot in supply at the track. Since I'm importing Edam, I'm carrying a LOT of spares with me to support the guys running it. Your best bet is to be well prepared before coming...if you plan to run your SuperJ and don't have much in the way of spares, I'll be bringing at least three SuperJ's plus spares.

Default GT racing at the great lakes challenge race

Hello I just wanted to let everyone know that for this years GLC the GT class will be open motors, all of the other rules for the class will remain the same with the exception of the motor rule, so lets get a good crowd of gt racers at this years event, the track was newly surfaced last year and the traction in awesome, this could be one of the best races of the year for GT.

WOW Thats great news

GT here on the East coast has been off the hook 25-35 entries at every race including test and tune days

The GLC is sure to see a record High for GT this year with this rule that follows the rest of the country.

Look forward to racing on that glass surface

Good call Mark!!! For those of you that have not try to run your GTs on this track you need to give this track a try. Awesome track indeed and the folks that are organizing this event are fantastic as well. Come on GT8 racers around the country, lets REPRESENT this class in new heights at this event shall we?

Would somebody be willing to tell me a little more about his GT/Pan car class? What type of car is this? engine? tires? I'm looking into touring for myself, but the website states that GT/Pan class is good entry level for kids and I'd like to involve my son as he enjoys the carpet racing with me as well. Thanks in advance!

The GT/Pan class is actually two different cars that have been run in the same heats.

The GT part is the GT8 buggy conversion type car and the Pan part is kinda a Toledo Club Class which some racers are really enjoying. They cars run similar lap times but the have different characteristics therefore use different lines around the track.

Here's a thread on the Pan cars, which are basically 2wd, non-suspension, cars updated from the cars run before suspension and 4wd. All chassis are imported but a few scratch builders are making their own car and some have had success with vintage Deltas and Associated cars.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-ro...sic-class.html

There is a lot to absorb in the above thread. Start jumping around near the end and you may be able to get a better idea of what it is about. The important point is find something that your son can run locally as the Pan part especially, is very localized. Probably Toledo is the hotbed, I believe there is some in TX, NY, and CA.

Didn't notice you are in Ohio! Definitely check out the class! There have been 2 to 3 young racers running in Toledo and doing quite well. And there is another young driver that runs the MWS +GLC. Toledo has around 10 to 12 cars in the area and 6+ run at the club races!!

This link should get you to the race results for the Toledo club. This years MWS race is on there and many of last years races. You can see the turnout and laptimes. The results are mixed sometimes, sometimes not.....

http://www.jlaprm.com/cgi-bin/JLapVi...p?where=Toledo

Best of luck,
Ned
