Default Tires - Where is the best?

It seems that all I hear from people at the tracks is who has the better tire and then who has the best price. Been to shops that want $27pr for FAST tires (ouch ) and other the sell them for $12pr ( ) But who has the best tire and best price?

Currently ace hobbies has fast tires for 14.99/pr. If you buy 3 pairs you get the 4th for free. That comes to 11.25/pr

GRP Devils are at Nitrohouse. They only come on a 2 degree wheel. 10 bucks a box.

What makes them the best? I admit I ran them the last 2 days of the RD race. I have run Treadz (GRP version), Treadz (Jaco version) Fast, GQ, and Kawahara. There are differences, but the quality of the wheel has been the biggest difference to me. I can make all of them go fast and be competetive.

A main: Paris memorial GQ tires
A main: Winter wind up Fast tires
A main: RD Logics GP Kawahara Zac Project tires.

All three of those races were on the same track with the same car.

For me, they provide more consistent traction and better wear than the GRP variants. Wear is a big factor as I measured one time at a track with good traction and rough asphalt the GRPs wear 1.5-2 times as fast as the Kawahara tires. As you mentioned their wheel is also more durable. I know all of them can work but combining all the factors I think Kawahara is the best out there.

Ok:
That seems like a logical conclusion. I have not found the same results as you. I have only done testing at our track so maybe at others, I will find more differences. I definitely agree that they are quite expensive.

Cya at the GLC or the Paris race.. Jeff?

I went to the above and bought tires. The shippng cost for 15 pr was $39!!!!!! From Miami to Tampa......waiting for a reply from the seller. I think $10 would be more like it.
