We have also just recently confirmed that GT8 will be an invited class at the 1/5 scale international challenge this October.

I believe Henry C has confirmed that GT8 will be participating at the next club race, electric and nitro. being a new class this is what we will do to welcome you guys,

Awards 1st-3rd in GT8 Nitro and Electric A main

For the next 2 club races, Sunday race fee for GT8 will be $10.00
(Saturday practice still remains $10.00)

I will also coordinate with Henry C to discuss a possible points series at GLARCRC for the GT8 class beginning in march.

Hope this will entice you guys to come and race with us, it would definately give the class a good boost...BE THERE!!

I'm from NorCal and no one up really here understands how much fun this class is. I will come done couple more times to join ya down south. I was just hoping that maybe ROAR will allow a special race (IGT) to showcase this class. This class will get bigger with them or without them but it would make sense if ROAR would support it...I'm just saying

Nationals is only one race, Glenn is welcoming the class all year long. If you guys start racing and show that the class is growing on the track, then maybe ROAR can consider to add it.
But to start, there have to be drivers racing in the class in a regular basis. Next club race will be a great way to start.

Default Special invite GT8 class to Roar Nats "Possible" ?

Glen,

Just a thought RE GT8 class at the National race in hopes to promoting the hobby.

Is it possible to have an "invite" class to the race? or is that something not allowed at a National race? or just to late to include an invite class?

By nature I can see more GT racers will have more interest in being allowed to race an "invite" class at the Nats and come from out of state to show case the class.

The thought on that is that it will give the GT8 class the opportunity to show case the class to Roar at a National level event in hopes that Roar officials at the race will have a 1st hand look at the cars, equipment, set up, motor etc. and maybe have a base to draw upon if or when the day comes to establishing a rule/guidelines for the class to be raced on the National level.

You got factory drivers for OFNA, Serpent, Kyosho and other conversion cars that will put on a good show for Roar, and get some input from them on what makes the class or what should be a class etc.?

If track daylight time or number of entries to the race dictates the addition of an invite class then that's understandable, BUT, if it's possible to squeeze in couple more heats for the class I think it will be a win win for all parties ie track turn outs at club races go up, more kits sold, more new racers get involved, should Roar set up the class then Roar membership goes up, some racers may or all ready have other cars to race when they attend races etc. etc.

Just a thought, I know we don't see GT at the club races, but this can be a big jump start. Maybe?

Billy T.

We have 25 to 30 Gt racers here in Utah mainly because we included this class for many years now. It started slow , but is now our biggest nitro class. These cars are a blast to drive and easy on the wallet.

Thanks for the info. Did a Google search and satellite view of where the track is located and it was not too far from where my dad use to live in Compton (W. Brazil St.). It is a good haul from where my family use to live on 10th Avenue just off Jefferson. Man, thinking about this race brings back some memories of my young days living in Los Angeles. Can't wait till September!!
