Default Rc on road colt belt driven

Wondering if anyone owns or has owned a colt rc car belt driven as I purchased one today at a bargain price but its the first one I've owned that's belt drive but I think the clutches on the axles are slipping to much if that's what they are called

I believe on the old Colt models were equipped with one-way bearings in the steering knuckles.

It seems to slip just where the pulley goes to the center of the axle might have to take it back to the store it's 6 years old but it's just old stock and a demo one
