Default Glow Plug and Engine

Hi Guys,

Have 2 probelms here.

1) recently lost my washer that comes with my glow plug, and ever since, fuel`s been splashing out from my cooler head. Is it due to the washer? is there a way i can prevent it (i have tightened it fully with all my strength)? Also, will it be harmful to my engine if i continue to run without the washer? or should u just get a new one? it`s a stock washer that comes with my FW05T.

2) after a couple of crashes on my car today, nothing went wrong , rather, my car performed better than usual. after stopping due to the flooding of fuel on my car, i realized my air filter came out. Was running on a VERY DUSTY track without it all along. I know it`s very bad for my engine, how can i clear all the unwanted dirt in my engine? i have injected fuel in from my carb and flushed it. is that good enough? or is there anything better that i can do?

Thanks for your help guys.

Cheers!!

dct147,
Start by going an get a new glow plug. Running without the washer causes a overlean condition due to air leak. I hope you didn't strip the threads when you tightened the plug with all your strength.

Without having to disasemble the entire engine to clean out the dust, just richen the motor till it 4 strokes and blip the throttle a bunch of times. Then retune for race conditions.

I understand about the washer.

but i don`t understand what u mean by just richen the motor till it 4 strokes and blip the throttle a bunch of times?

Do u mean i richen my mixture and run it?

Thanks for your help once again.

DCT147,
Richen your motor until it barely stays running and is spitting out alot of oil from the pipe. Then just blip the throttle afew times to flush it out. Re-tune the engine and you should be all good. Don't worry, you probably did no harm to the engine, just do this as a precautionary measure.

Default engine cleaning

hey if you don't know what to do, have someone help you. take the backplate off the motor if you have a pull starter first remove it make sure your glow plug and air cleaner are off. and then thoroughly use a spray cleaner or fuel and pour it in the carb and the glow plug hole and in the crankcase area to ensure no dirt or debris scores your piston and sleeve. don't take chances unless you got lots of money always be safer than sorry
