This might help, ask yourself these before you spend your hard earned money.

What do I plan on doing with it RACE or BASH around?

Does my local hobby shop support that brand and are parts easily available?

As far as Nitro goes any Nitro, heres a list of items you have to have to run.
Glow igniter
Fuel
Fuel bottle
Glow plugs, always have extra MUST HAVE
Tunning screw driver
And extra batteries, unless you get rechargeable packs

To answer you shell/body question. The beauty of this sport/hobby is there always room for customizing your ride.
So just find one with the right dimensions, but remember you might have to get different body post to hold it to make it work.

Most important have lots of patience, don't be afraid to ask questions especially from locals that run Nitro, and have Tons of Fun!! We were all beginners once!

That's fine for a beginner just be sure to break in engine properly and tune best you can if not already done from factory.
