Had a chance to run the car at the Airtronics Race last weekend. The car was really good since day one. Very easy to drive and really good corner speed. I qualified 3rd and was in 3rd place on the main event until I had to retire due to a problem in the pits (no car related), the other 2 cars in the main finished with no problems, the car is very reliable.
I am sure all of you will enjoy driving this car as much as I did.

We also Ran the 977 for the first time this weekend along with our teammate Walter and the car is outstanding. The build came together very easy. We only made two changes to the car and right away noticed how vastly improved this car is over it's predecessor the 966. It carries far more corner speed and is easy to drive at speed.
We were able to make the A main and finish 4th. Considering we only had limited practice time and 4 qualifiers to set the car up. We could have finsihed 3rd but ran into a problem during refueling which cost us an extra pit stop.
You can't go wrong by selecting this car as a future purchase. We look forward to seeing all of you who will be attending the on road nationals this year. Feel free to come over and talk to us should you have any question. Till then good luck and enjoy your new vipers.

Sincerely
Alex & Christian Lopez

cheers Burty.

Yep, the manual setting is a bit to narrow, the next manual will be changed, online maybe even sooner, but it's not that huge of a issue, is it?
My car was to wide in the rear, after I put it together, but normally, set-up wise I just screw the car together, and fine tune on the set-up board, then you never get these "problems".

Did you drive the car yet?

I did some testing yesterday, but with +3 Celcius (37F) and a VERY dirty slippery track, I can not yet really give any comments, but that the car is very responsive and feels like 12th scale driving!.... and I love 12th scale driving!

Salven came to the track, to do some Cobra GT testing (you should have seen him, hahaha) and to help a bit with setting up the car.
Also to see/hear the new Hipex "low noise" exhaust pipes we are going to use this club season at the MACH Heemstede track.

Congratulations to all the Serpent guys.. Paolo, Walter, Christian, Brandon and their pit crews.

Thanks Ernesto for all your help.

Three 977's in the A main the first time out with the car. Wow.

I messed up.. a little rusty. No excuses. I'll try to do better next time.

Got mine last night !! ......... It's going to be a busy easter weekend!

BTW, how many of you guys ran with the 38g centre chassis weight ballast ? Or can the car work without it ? In other words, is it an 'essential' option to buy?

Cheers

It depends on the weight limits of your track. The car is 40 grams underweight (2485 grams). And this is using the full size servos.

So you can use this weight as tuning option since it will most likely be needed to reach legal weight.
