Whoops, I just re-read that last paragraph..............

What I mean, is just because someone works for a large motor company, does not mean they are god. Im not saying they are not good, just does not mean they are the best and make no mistakes. If you are not making mistakes, you arn't pushing harder...... why some of us don't have that new tire patch on the outboard edges of our street bikes..... hehehe

Anyway, this is Smeltz's topic, lets let him carry on his business.

Default Compac

don't start this again.

Have you ever looked at Formula One cars.
All the teams design their own cars, but if you'd paint them all white you could barely see a difference. Why?

Not because they are all copying, simply because their is one design that comes closest to the optimum.

Same with engines. Why should Smeltz try to reinvent the wheel?

Look at stock engines. They are almost all close to identical, simply because it works.

Look at the modified engines, same thing.

So, if you are interested in his motors, ok, if not, leave him alone.

How do you measure this ?

Is it just the degrees the crank turns from when the intake port on the crank starts to open to when its completely closed ?

Is it 190 standard for most engines and how much can you increase it before it has no further gain or loses power ?

I have a stock rs12 and a jp rs12, and I would like to know how much it has been increased and how this compares to Smeltz engines
