The proceed was never supported very well, i would not spend my money on it. The car is also several years old and is old technology.

MAKE sure you buy a car that you can get parts if you need them(you will) and that other local racers have so you can get a lot of imput and help from.

That is a question you will have to answer for yourself, but take several things into account before you do.
1. Price range what r u willing to spend?
2.Parts availability this is most important.
3. Factory support.
4. Racer support who is running the car and where.
5. These are in no particular order.

The Mugen Mrx-4 is probably the easiest to get parts for and also one of the best cars on the market. If i can help let me know.

I would have to say the HPI Proceed was a good car in it's time, but is now a little outdated, it might be hard to find parts for it now. It enjoyed some success here in the states, Delta Dave, Ted Hammer, Kyle Gannon and a few others did well with it , Delta used to be the place to get parts and tires for it but I don't know if he is selling parts for them anymore. It would be a good car to play with but maybe a better option would be an MRX-3, you can still get parts easy and can find those cars pretty cheap used as many people haved moved on to the MRX-4 but the MRX-3 is still pretty good, check the used forums here and on Ebay and stuff, if you get a super deal on a HPI with a bunch of parts, maybe go for it, check with Delta MFG. to see if they still sell tires for it. Bottom line, good car for playing with, but might want to consider another car for racing...

I would go with the MRX-3 or 4. I own the MRX-3 and am very pleased with it. I bought the kit new on ebay last christmas for really cheap. The motor turned out to be more than the kit!
But before getting it you have to realize that these 1/8ths are very fast. So make sure that your local track is suitable for 1/8ths. And if your LHS does not carry 1/8th parts, there are a lot of websites that do carry mugen parts like brooklynhobbies.com, ace-hobbies.com, and microrcshop.com. I have found that brooklynhobbies has the best deals.

Also look at the results of the 2005 Florida Winternationals at mugenracing.com. You will find that Mike Swaugers MRX-4 won the 1/8th scale A-Main. Also there were not any HPI Proceeds.

Yeah 2003 was the last competitive year for the Proceed I believe. Delta still sells stuff. Some stuff they stopped.

These guys are right though. Why would you want to drop all that money just to always get whooped. No matter how much you modify. Go with the newer more competitive cars. If your into racing.

But if you just want a 1/8scale to bash with and you love hpi or something. You might be able to find some good deals on ebay. Just gotta wait a little for the right one to come along.

I think though hpiracing is the only ones to offer parts for it and they can get a little costly. Not sure about mugen. So thats something to look into before buying.
