Default Help fitting 2-speed on a Nova Mega C12 w/ SG shaft

Ok this is my first shot at an NRS4. The motor has an SG shaft and when it is all assembled and it's time to put on the clutchbell I notice a gap roughly in the area of around 5/16" from the bearing in the end of the clutchbell to the end ot the shaft where the screw goes. Obviously when this gets tightened down everything becomes locked as one unit because of that gap. I have read something regarding this kit from ofna.

There is a spacer in the upper right hand side of the pic that looks like the missing link. Is this my problem here???

The other question is once all that is fixed and working if i use the standard HPI motor mounts in the standard holes the motor doesnt seem to line up with the 2-speed. It's in the neigborhood of an 1/8" too far back.

Are the simple things I'm just overlooking or are there other issues at work here???

Thanks for any help.
