Default 2013 New project - 1/8 on road Air diffuser

In Formula 1 car, Aerodynamics have developed rapidly, and the design of body is getting more compliacted and becomes the most important part of Formula 1 racing. My idea is to build a effective air diffuser on 1/8 on road racing,
to make the car faster.
Just started drawing some 3D pictures, and researching for a perfect product for 1/8 cars. The first product will be produced by 3D printer.
Perhaps it will gain something for 1/8 on road cars!

I think you might want to do a thorough review of the rules to make sure the diffuser is compliant. If that doesn't concern you, have at it! I'd love to see the result!

Your going to end up with monster rear traction and your going to need extreme soft front tires. You need to design some sort of front difuser that integrates with body and front bumper not just a rear difuser.

It will be fun for you to design and produce but it will be somewhat useless as rules don't allow it.

Within limits of rules it has been tried and ultimately not that effective. Ride height changes a lot with 1/8 during a 30 minute plus final and controlling air with changing ride height, tire size, and air slot gaps will be very difficult.

Your time would be better spent designing a more effective body shell.

It probably wouldn't be ideal for 1/8 OPEN.

But would be for GT8!

IGT8F OPEN-PRO Class Rules allows ideas and products as yours to be used in racing.

Sounds interesting. Do counter the rear downforce With a front Splitter.
