Only problem is that the local post service are not saying its been delivered. They have stated they never even received it from HKPost. Therefore the package has either not left Hong Kong or is shipped to the wrong address. HKPost have supposedly handed the package over which could even mean it is sitting at some customs warehouse in a HK Airport and nobody can be bothered to go check it out.

the bottom line is that the customer did not get the goods he paid for. regardles who says what, it is bad business not to get the goods the customer ordered in their hands. knowing mushroom is like this, they now have lost my business. i will never order from the again. so, sow and steady may have lost out this time, but in the long haul it will be rc mushroom who will have lost the most.

Gotta throw in my 2cents worth. RCMushroom has been nothing but GREAT for me. Always got what I ordered and never charged for anything out of stock. Always informed if something is back ordered and asked if I want to wait to ship my whole order. Always tells me when order is shipped. Their customer service people always reply to my emails. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with their service and always promote them to my friends.

Default R/C Model Update!

Hi Guys,

After sending Rcmodel another email, this time i told them if i didn't hear something soon i would get Paypal involved. Suprise suprise they shipped my goods. But i now have an item on backorder I am not overly fussed an item is out of stock, more it takes 20 days since they received payment for them to process the order and send me an automated email advising me of this. All it takes is an email to advise the customer of what is going on, but obviously that is to hard. I only hope at some stage in the near future i might actually see my other items?

About paying thru paypal, I would like to share a little bit of my opinion.
I too get burned 1 time with the $300 Serpent dead beat liar ebay deal.....send the money to seller, seller decided my BID was way too low and decided to take my $300 and NOT send me his Serpent.......NICE GUY (his auction has no reserve, and he blaimed EBAY screw him up by not having someone bid for $1,000....LOL)

Anyhow, after I received his email saying he is not going to ship, I called PAYPAL (using phone, don't bother using email)......they immediately lock the account and the transection....and said they will work on it within 30 days..........

RIGHT, like I will let paypal do the investigation and wait 30 days and tell me "sorry, it passed 30 days already, can't help you to collect your $300...."

I immedateily called my CC company, I was using my CC thru PAYPAL to pay this guy.........after providing the seller email stating that is a scam and my side of story, within 30 minutes, CC refund my $300 (full amount) without any investigation or question. they said, they will contact PAYPAL and EBAY and follow up with this seller, and he said since I was using CC, this seller will not get the real money ON TIME thru PAYPAL. And after that phone call, I did not have to do a thing afterall.

So....just want to let you guys know, ALWAYS use your CC thru PAYPAL to buy ANYTHING, or use CC to buy online..........CC is your LAST LINE of defense............and also, you must ACT ASAP once you realized that you are scammed, don't wait 1 week or 10 days, overall, you will have 30 days to settle the whole thing, after 30 days, PAYPAL nor CC will not do anything for you.

For those who ordered from RC Champ (Mr. Masa) over Japan........I have to say, he is one of the few owner of the store (I think he is the owner, right) that would answer all email within days.......super good service. But I want to ask.....Masa only giving us the Japanese YEN price....and I am using paypal to pay him in Japnaese YEN.....does anyone know the PAYPAL conversion rate is between Japanese YEN and US Dollar...? Like 100 Yen to $1.XX US? I know I can search the net for current conversion rate, but I also KNOW Paypal has its own rate....where can I find out? Thanks

Rookie, as you know I order from Champs almost every two/three weeks. I take Hirosaka's quotes and then I go to a couple different currency conversion sites to double check. I don't remember the dollar to yen comparison, I think its $1 = 109.58 JPY, but his quotes are always very accurate. Example: when I ordered a set of universals @ 2499 yen = $22.80. Comes to about $12 cheaper than ordering within US. Even though they don't have a site to order from, I like their personal attention to details via e-mail. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the scoop! I had a similar experience as well.

the conversion rates on other sites are better than what paypal will give you. what you can do, log onto paypal. act as though your are sending a payment. then put in to convert it. it will tell you what it would be... but do not really send the money. does this make sense?

yahoo finance has foreign exchange, which would convert USD to whatever currency you choose.

I think sometimes you get what you pay for. I still prefer to purchase from shops in US more than the ones from overseas. Yes, you might get lower prices, but, you cannot reach them easily. In US, at least, you can report them to BBB.

Recently, I bought a V1RRR WCE from a new shop called rc-toro ( and yes they have pretty good prices). Even tho they are online only, at least I can call them up easily. And they are local to me.

One suggestion: whenever making a big purchase, always call first.

Silver, I choose to also support my LHS which I do 80% of the time. But I run a lot of Kawahara parts that are pretty hard to come by in the states. For instance, my Kawahara ZT1 has plastic parts that are kinda brittle for the spur gear mounts. Cracks due to stress not crashes. Lucky I have a friend who is CNCing some part that should last the life of the car. But otherwise I wish to support my friends at Leisure Hour Hobbies.
