Default Anyone still racing 235mm 2wd?

Just checking to see if there are clubs that still race 235mm 2wd, post here if you do..
Here in Montreal, Canada we still race the 2wd 235mm class, it is popular and great class to race here....

the midwest series was the last bastion of 235 2wd in the US. the series went 4wd last year and is still surviving albeit barely because of a few dedicated guys.

I think there are at least 2 classes of 235 4WD under MidWestSeries on each stop...........still, I will not give up the Impact unless Serpent is stop making parts for that car....

But getting big block 15 for this car is not easy...........some ppl are using small block 15 or 18 onto the car....

Engines are all the same, modding 12 is no different then modding 15 or 18 or 21.....I have all my engines mod by a private engineer over California....

how do you fit a small black .12, .15, or .18 into a 235? the engine mount holes dont line up for the small block engines. are you guys getting custom engine mounts for these cars?

Default 235

you can get big block 15's from at least one source. rb still makes them in the 6 port turbo non mod and a roddy mod. i got mine from ashford hobbies but they do not stock them , they order them from france and it takes a while to get over here. 235 2 wheel might be gone but it looks like we will have a decent class size in 1/10 open at tsrcar in hamilton, ohio.

A lot of the guys are running small block 15's now. You have to get a custom made chassis or alter the slots to let it fit.

From current performances on the track I would be as bold as to say that a good .12 small block with BRB P/S set in it would be a match for any large block .15.

I am thinking about doing this next year. Want to run 235mm again before it dies off completely in the UK (only about 30-40 in total)

or i could have Top Gun 777 modify my big block .15 . trying to work something out with edward cuz i really want a more powerful engine in my car. its too bad you guys dont product P/S set for big blocks (demand is for small block 12's, unfortunately).

Yeah. Pity there is no demand for them. I wanted a big block p/s myself.

But the weight savings from the small block make up for it.

Serpent actually made engine mounts to fit the Mega .15 small block engine into the Serpent 835 / Impact.

http://www.mytsn.com/products/product.asp?prid=4047

Don't know if this will fit other .15 small block engines made by Novarossi, NovaMax and RB...

thanx initial d.

unfortunately it wont fit my avance. i checked the chassis holes and the serpent ones on the 835 are more closely spaced than that on the avance. its a good idea for 835 owners though.

Default 235 motors

Uriah Murnan will modify a big block 15. I sent my rb down to him today. he has a thread in this section.I ran one of his modified mt 12's last year and it was a powerhouse. he has some pictures of a couple cranks he worked on in his thread, he does quality work.

Default 235mm

Ran Murnan evo5 in my serpent 835 last year, wishful thinking that a .12 would run with it. .12 sedans however are very competitive vs 235. just wish I could run my novamax .15 small block in my kyosho 200 in the 1/10 open class

Default 235

i guess i should clarify, the mt-12 was in a ntc3 not a 235. up to this point i haven't chimed in about putting a 5 port 12 in a 235 but i am almost positive those motors won't have the torque to push that car around the track. no matter how you gear it.
