Default TIRE SHORE QUESTION??

Fellas quick question, can someone who really knows foam tires please answer this for me, why is it that most of if not all of my fellow racers like 32/35 and i try it but always seem to go back to 32/40 or 35/40?? 40rears always seem to have more forward bite n just as much side bite........it feels like on hot days 35 and 37 rears have more wheel spin expert please chime in...........thanks

One factor could be to even out tire wear as you know how the rears wear faster than the fronts on the sedans. I myself don't like that soft a shore on the front. I opt for 37- 40 fronts. And 40-42 rears

So see your like me, not only do u get better tire wear, but just as much performance in warm weather, i think the softer shore would prob excel in cooler weather, i could b wrong tho......

They do give more initial traction but in the heat my seem mushy and at the risk of wear as well I rather make the harder tire work

I'm with you. When my club members run 35/40 I find that 38/42 is better for me.

Pass you soon...

Ok cool so it seems different setups/driving styles prefer harder tires......

Tire temperature,if you overheat 32/35 then they don't make you faster than 40/42.

Default Well

For what it's worth, I've been running 45 front 40 rear most of the year and haven't had a traction problem yet. Plus I don't have to true tires since the wear is so even from front to back. Go figure...I don't know if anyone else is doing this but it works for me, I'm using very little foam and have no complaints.

ive always run the same. way back when i was learning to race other racers always said start with a 40 rear and run 1 range higher on the front. if you need more traction drop down a range both front and rear. ive always been doing that, almost always run 45 front 40 rear, always had more grip than i knew what to do with.

i run 32/37 leftside and 35/42 rightside on the car on a anticlockwise driving cirquit with long high speed sweepers. Useless info though for anyone without the setupsheet.

A lot of times during the warm/hot summer time, tracks will get loose and drivers will normally go to softer shores believing that they will pick up more traction. However the reverse will happen. The reason is the softer tires like 32/35 shores have wider pore patterns and pick up more of the oils and track dust and this makes your car loose. Harder tires like 37, 40, and 42 shores have a closer/smaller pore pattern and they then don't pick up the oils and therefore have better grip.

By testing like you have been doing is the best way to select the shore you and your car needs. Good job guys!
