where did you hear about it?
I made a couple of calls to old associates. Apparently it is either Robbe or Automodelli R/C who is using and own the BMT name now.

Yep. Robbe-Kyosho, Robbe-SG and BMT-Kyosho also.

SG and BMT and Thunder Tiger cars are all designed by the same person. Sabbatini (gave my dad a free mod engine in '79 at Geneva and showed him how to mod engines).

Good Stuff! Remember BMT-Tamiya? 931K4 1/10 4WD. Amazing what Tamiya did to the instruction manual of a BMT. True work of art.

Sabbatini, didn't he design the thunder tiger 1/10 tourer,i'm surprised it didn't really take off in the r/c world?

Awsome! Do you run your 8th scale competitively? That's one thing I've always wanted to do.... put an 8th scale BMT together and keep it with my fleet of 10th scale BMT's. (2 - 4WD's & 2 - 2WD's) Just a freak I guess.

From what I gather he only acquired Thunder Tiger after the TS4N was designed. It is definately not his car. If it was you would know it was. It would be winning races by now. lol

SG - Cars where world champions numerous times. Also created the SG shaft. (Many people think it was Serpent but Sabbatini designed it before Serpent were even created). Set the pace in the engine modifying world.

BMT - Cars dominated from day one of existence for over 10years (Pantera suspension is still well ahead of other 1:8th cars af far as technology is concerned after 6 years).

Now he has acquired Thunder Tiger and I'm sure we can expect good things to come from them.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details but I think that the rally game car is something that poped up a couple of years ago from the remaining inventory of BMT;s ill fated 1/8th off road buggy. IMO I wouldn't make any investment in BMT's as technology is old and some parts are hard if not impossable to find.

I would disagree with you on that one. BMT technology is not outdated at all. All the major manufacturers still use pivot ball suspension which BMT started 15yrs ago. The Pantera suspension is still ahead of the current cars which dont have active technology due to the high costs.

As for parts, My company will be producing parts to fit to allow people to run the BMT cars again. Maybe it will intice Sabbatini to start producing the cars again under the Thunder Tiger name
