Eventhoug the Kit comes with GRP tires, the cost shouldn't be that high. A set of GRP tires (4 tires) cost approx less than $20.

Well, we, of couse, should support our Local Hobby Store. However, the price should be more reasonable. If Mugen wants to set the price that high; that's okay. But at least, try to prove that Mugen can win the US National! HPI has won 2 consecutive 2003-2004. And the price of R40 wasn't this ugly.

if you have a problem with the price........dont buy one..........buy an R40

people want stuff for free, but if there was no markup on products then most people wouldn't get paid

Well, I am buying MTX-4, but from oversea. The price is cheaper.
When I got my MTX-3, I got it from oversea too. And there was no problem.

'coz I belive one thing. Mugen is one of the top RC producers in the world. They are making high-end products with greatest quality. So, no matter where you get the kit, the standard should be always the same.

Car cannot run itself, agree!

"at the end is the expirience and skills of the driver.." agree

Negligent, e.g., forgot to tighten screws, running out of battery, etc.
Disagree.

This doesn't call accident. This can be prevented, and if it still heppen, it is called negligent

If its of missing parts or damage im sure the store regardless where ever will refund or support you in some way. Theres usually email contact or a toll free number...Sides, most shops online are actual hobby stores...

I would like to see Hara run 1/8th scale...just for some clean fun

I would like to see Hara running 1/8 too. He is very fast, consistent, nice, and highly professional.

Agree there could be missing parts or damage, but chances are very slim.
If the price is $100 different (LHS vs Internet/oversea), and there is a missing part, I believe getting a replacement parts shouldn't a problem. At least should not cost more than $100. Unless, you open the box and see a bent chassis or empty box. If that ever happened. Mugen should fire those QC guys.

i'd like to see Hara drive an Mtx-3/4. We'll see what he says about the car & compare it to his R40... A really good driver (may I add world class driver) can always make "any" car look good If I get an offer to be paid for doing this hobby, I would do it for whatever car it is (well of course, for a reasonable pay) Mtx3 (maybe 4) is just all-around better.

Maybe it has Mugen driver signatures on the chassis.

what was it that you call to gas station rasing their prices higher than normal? US law has a way of catching people doing that, why not in RC industry too? Not sure whether that store is doing an unlawful act , but it just doesn't look right...
