Default belt tensioner plate mtx 4r

hello guys i'm new tho this forum but i just assembled my mtx4r but i came across a problem, when you have to assemble the belt tensioner plate you have to assemble it with the bearings facing the front of the car, but a few pages further i noticed that the plate is mirrored, so i took the plate off and i
mount it in the oposite direction, but now the holes arent counter sunk and the plate interferes with the engine mount. why does one page of the manual says A, and the other page of the same manual says B.

thank you in advanca for your reply,

dirk

Welcome to the Mugen family (once you enter this family, you can never leave. ). And the holes should be counter-sunk. Be sure to check the Mugen MTX-4R thread, nitro knowledgebase (http://www.nitrokb.com/mtx4/index.html) and I also have a build sequence on my site (www.teamkhaos.com).

And again, welcome to the Family

the bearing should be in the front and if you see the counter sunk facing the pipe, then you assamble it right. The reason there are two assambly is because the old version MTX4 has the bearing closer to the back and block the engine, later they update the carbon plate to have the bearing in the front, hope that answer your question

does anyone go beyond the 6tooth gear split-like maybe 7 tooth split on either pinions or spurs?

The MSR spring seems a little stiffer than the Mugen Ex hd spring. I get slippage if I go any further than .8mm spring tension. Someone mentioned that the MSR spring might be used with the MRX4/r.

how does that work out for you? Have you stripped any gears or does the car bog down when shifting into second?

Works good if you have a lot of motor, too big of a split for most stock motors.
