i managed to over tighten and stripped one of the screw holes in the the rear sway-bar holder. it just continuously turns and turns. is there any temporary solution? or do i have to get it replaced?

Thanks

Try a longer screw then check if it's hitting anything. If it's not then you should be good to go.

Ok guys after hunting down a tuning issue today. Figured out it was my header weld , came loose a tad and was spewing air/fuel. At WOT the car would shutter in rpms.

After that Ive tried setting up the 2nd speed engagement and #1 its hitting very hard from the start. When holding the car it gives you a nice slap. Ive tried bringing the gap of the shoes as close as possible with the 2nd speed housing. I notice this creates a good gap in between the shoe itself , more than im used to on other cars. Is this right , does anyone have some reccomendations. Im going to move onto screwing the tension back on the 2mm screws. Im guessing this should help some. I built it as per the instructions at first and it was barely going into 2nd. Ive got stock gearing except for 18/24 pinions.

Ive got everything nearly perfect , ride height and tires are trued and ready. The only problem is my 2 rear tires that came with the kit are VERY wobbly , has anyone had any issue with the mugen tires such as this? Think they would be kind enough to send me a 2nd set? I want to try these tires and see how I like em , otherwise ill be running my usual stock.

Other than that the car is handling superb. I cant wait to race it next month.

I'm not sure if you caught some of the posts that I had with Jo G, but this is the formula for setting up the 2-speed correctly [ revised 9-MAR-07 ]:

Inner diameter of the 2-speed housing minus the outer diameter of clutch shoes (widest points) equals 0.4-0.6mm

These leaves a gap of 0.2-0.3mm between the 2-speed housing and shoe.

Full instrunctions on how to adjust the shoes will be up in a day or so, once I catch up with the rest of my life and have time to revise the first draft of the diagram. Too bad I don't have Photoshop at the office!

I would just go and loosen the 2mm tension screws on the side if you just want to car to shift earlier.

i just placed the shoes and the housing without the engine, set the shoes ītil they touched the housing, at this point i backed up a quarter and that was it, dont know for sure how may .oommm are apart but almost 10 months withouth stripping a gear, even with a 2t split, 17/23 52 60 or any combination, by the way i use a dab o mugen super joint grease on the 2 balls and the 2 speed shoe adaptor, just to make them last longer, at least it works on the unis

Why is it Kawahara parts are so hard to find? They apparently make great stuff that everyone loves. There should be a ton of dealers.

Good Luck AI, Sorry I cannot help
