Hi guys,

I picked up my MTX-4 this weekend. I've looked through this forum and saw that the first upgrade to get is the front CVD.

I want to buy a spring set that I can use on the car. I think there is 4-5 different spring sets from mugen for this car. I spoke to a couple of guys at our track and they are using the Xray set. Apparently the range is bigger. Where can I buy this online as it is not available anymore in our country?

What other sets will work on this car?

Hi ProE,
Welcome to mugenville
You are quite right that the cvds are no.1 on the list.
Don't forget to also get the 4mm rear shock tower as the standard one is a little on the thin side.
as for springs a set of Mugen purple, dark blue and grey spring sets will be all you'll need for most tracks and using the mugen springs is the best bet as the front and rear pairs are different lengths like on the RRR

Also check the cvd or the dog bone to make sure you don't have front's in the rear!
other than that i guess i never had that issue.

Sorry the other fix wasnt it .

you can allways reset the camber and toe.

Newby to MTX-4 questions:
First Q:
Which dog bone goes in the front and which one in the rear? Am I right in assuming the short goes in the front and the long one in the rear? I've measured the front and rear diffs, and the front one is longer. Therefore I'm assuming the front dog bones must be shorter.

Second Q:
Which is the standard pulley for the middle shaft? the 23 or 24?

Correct short in front long in rear.

if you switch them you come up short in the rear, barley grabing the joint cup.

As for 3 racing products a good rule is if it is a moving part dont use them

I used them on my MTX3 and they where s--t
Also the spring steel in there sway bars a very brittle

just wondering, is there any part from other manufacturer
that uses a 24T one way pulley compatible with the band
that the mugen uses, beware, it should plastic, not aluminum

happy racing

I absolutely agree. Its name says it, not lasted for 3 times. I had my CVD on my 05R before, only 1 minor hit, it crashed.

my bad, I meant wrong, what I should've said
is if there is a side pulley one way (the mtx4 uses 24/25)
just like the one on the losi jrxs, thinking on building one myself
with a spare one way bearing and some cnc working

happy racing

Default howdy

hi all mugenites , been some years since racing and recently got bit again by the nitro bug . so after a short bit of research i decided on the 1/10 nitro touring car class and the easy car choice after doing some research was the mtx-4
what sold me was hearing how bullet proof strong the car is and mostly the support behind the car .
the car should be here in a days or so and i already secured the recomended mods plus a huge pile of extra hop ups and spares in a sweet deal i couldnt pass up even if some of the hop ups wont be used . i like to stay as stock as possible for the most part

i am based in norcal and will be joining the fun at speedworld raceway with the rivercity rc guys as soon as i build the car

i wish to thank this forum in advance for the help i already found and the future questions im sure to have .

cheers,

nitrogasm

Hi ProE,
for a 0--0 split you need to use the 25tooth pulley.
When you get a chance and try the car with the 25t, then the 24t back to back to see which one works better as i found that i like the car better with the 24t personaly
