The MTX-3 cover and the 4's are the same.

I believe the Atomic one is around 45 and the kawahara one is 65. The Kawahara has to sets of outdrives. I don't think the Atomic one has a second set.

Major: You have already asked the local hobby shops in our are and the parts support of the MTX3 Prospec is not that good. Go get the MTX4 so that you won't have any problems with parts support. Some parts of the MTX3 can be used on the MTX4 according to one of our racers. I think you already asked him about this. You can also ty to visit www.rc-mushroom.com. But I doubt it if you want to buy parts over the internet but that's the easiest way to order parts for the kit.

ok thanks. I think they changed the p/n of the bag that they come in. I was comparing parts lists and thought the MTX-4 didn't come with a cover like the MRX-4. Thanks for the info.

JK, that's great! I made one in Illustrator to a PDF with the rear blade settings, but yours is much more universal and user friendly. Thanks!

I have the Atomic unit. The outdrives have a square milled in their centres which is connected via a square rod. The rod can then be secured to the oneway tube with a single pin and oring.

The kawahara unit locks together with 2 interlocking outdrives, and locks with 4 pins through different outdrives and 4 orings.

Just my 2 cents but I think that the Mugen ones are stiffer but you can't run a one piece motor mount with the 4mm Mugen chassis.

Are the Kawahara chassis 4mm?

I've heard so many different things about each kind of chassis and it sounds like there's a give and take in relationship to performance. I personally did not experience any handling problems with the stock 3mm but after almost a year of running it and taking a few hits, it seems to be tweaked, which is making it difficult to accurately set up. My droop comes out twisted and when I brake the car turns to the right. I don't have a tweak station to accurately measure which wheel is experiencing more pressure from the chassis tweak, but once I find this out,I'm wondering if I could compensate by adjusting the the shock collars? (as it is right now there is more force being placed on the right rear of the car which lowers the ride height on that side and makes the droop appear off)

I will eventually buy a new chassis for the upcoming year, no doubt, but I'm trying to better understand chassis dynamics and finish out the last races of the year

You should be able to adjust the collars.

The 4mm chassis is when you have plenty of rear traction and you are looking for more front traction. IMO
