I think some parts from mtx3 prospec can be use interchangebly with mtx4 :

Ti knuckle ball / loolipop
Al Wheel Adapter
Steel Universals
Ti Shaft for Front and Rear Pulley ( If they are the same )
Ti Steering Rods
Front & Rear Uprights
Plastic Ball Connectors
Suspension Arms : MTX4 --> MTX3
All Belts ?
All Bearings ?

I would hope the clutch bell is stronger than aluminum.

And to the other comment on saying that the MTX4 will be a lot better than the MTX3. Of course that's driver dependent. If the MTX3's can beat the RRR's, 710's, G4's, and R40's regularly at the track (which I do), we come back to my other point...how can the MTX4 be that much better. I agree with the other guy, time will tell.

As I said, most likely I'll splurge and get the MTX4, but I won't be getting rid of my MTX3 prospec. It would have been nice if Mugen would have made the longer A arms available with the MTX3 instead of upgrading to a whole new car. The amount of improvements made to the MTX4 doesnt warrant a need to purchase a whole new car from an MTX3 as an upgrade. I believe Mugen should have designed a whole new revolutionary car, instead of going half assed with building the current MTX4. Maybe it is a completely different car from the MTX3 (performance-wise), which then I will be eating my words

It does look like a sweet car, as do all Mugen's do. Great quality. One thing I wouldn't worry about, is reliability. Mugen MTX's are built to handle great, and can handle a strong hit to the walls. I've hit so many walls, and still haven't broken anything on my MTX3. I'm sure the MTX4 will follow suit.

why design a whole new car when what's current works so good. Mtx4 is the refined Mtx3; expect only better

I'd say nobody will force you to buy the new car.

My motivation will be

a.) Bigger batteries, finally. How many long mains have been lost (incl. Swauger) because of those small cells.

b.) Maintenance. We'll be able to find out within minutes if a spool, diff or one-way works best at the track

c.) My MTX 3 is oooold

d.) Usually a new Mugen is the car to beat.

e.) This is my hobby and I WANT the new car.

Actually, the MTX-4 should have been the MTX-3 when the 3 came out. But hey, better late than never.

Stefan,

My MTX-3 is old as well. Bought mine a month after its introduction. Had been running it bone stock until this year when I upgrade some performance parts. I did have to replace the chassis but went with the RD Logics blue 3mm chassis instead of the 4mm chassis. I was going to wait a month or two before I buy the MTX-4 but will get one when it hits the LHS in the DFW area. I just Mugen would go ahead and release the car to the rest of us so that we Mugen loyalists can show the defectors that went to Kyosho that they made a mistake by switching.

Oh, by the way, did I hear that Ron Atomic switched from Kyosho to Mugen? If so, that should tell you something about how good the Mugen product is.

One of those Hong Kong shop is taking pre order for MTX4, I think it was $430.00 + shipping & they said, they stock it Oct. 1st, 05. So I think adding $40.00 bucks for shipping bring the price range to high $400.00 for us user?
(correct the hi part).
