The pics are very nice. However, I would prefer to see one in my hand up close and personal.

Nice!

I just hope that rear shock tower won't be too expensive, because according to my experience with the Kawahara piece for the MTX3, it'll break kinda easy.

Oh, and they turned the steering servo around, now I got to solder new wires

Lastly, I wish they'd made the receiver box closed for water protection....

Woohoo, i just noticed something that it comes with that was almost a must for me, at least the pics show this. All of the balls for the turnbuckes and other suspention parts have hex drive heads, this will make working on the car much easier IMO

Top Ten early adopters ?

Now the race depends on cargo forwarders' speed and customs handling.

Looking at the car, i'm not too impressed, and I own a MTX3 prospec.

Positives: You can use a flat pack, which would help out with the balancing and CG of the car, but the battery pack is heavier than the AAA battery pack used on MTX3's. Also, the easy to remove front and rear diffs. Nice touch. Longer A arms is a plus as well.

Negatives: I really wonder how this car is that much better than an MTX3 prospec. Suspension geometry looks to be the same just with different size arms.

Now I'm not saying I won't buy the MTX4 since I am a loyal Mugen customer, but I really hope to see some good reviews of this car. I may wait to purchase the car in hopes of seeing how others like it. If it doesnt seem to be that much better than the MTX3 prospec, I'll wait for the MTX4 prospec, or get a RRR.

different length a arms is a big difference as far as geometry is concerned and if you look at the lower front A arms it looks lower also. As for the weight the previous car was under weight so adding the weight using a flat pack bats thats good since it sits on the chasis.

the only thing i wished was that there was an extra hole on the rear camber link so you have an option to use a longer camber link.

Im sure the car will be alot better than the previous moder based Mugens history. I'm just curious to see if the front roll center is also adjustable and hopfully it comes with the aluminum clutch bell like the one in the pics.

Here is just my opinions about mtx4 vs mtx3 ( don't kill me ) :

Performance & Stabillity : MTX4, wider arms, center fuel tank.
Maintenance: MTX4, easy front & rear bulkhead removal.
Strength : MTX3 got less chance of breaking.
Simplicity : MTX3 and MTX4 are tie, they are using less screws than any other cars.

Do you notice MTX4 is using Silver Ball Connector Hexagonal ? Very nice, just like MRX4

Hop up options for MTX4 :

4mm 7075 main chassis
3mm CF radio plate
4mm CF front and rear Shock Tower
Al Post for radio plate
Ti Hinge Pins, Ti Pulley Shafts, Ti lollipop knuckle
Al upper bulkheads
Al front & center pulley holder post
Al wheel adapters
Hard Steel Universals
Ti screws

I think this car will be a massive improvment on high traction / high speed tracks where traction roll (well known with the MTX3) was an issue. The longer arms should improve this.

But time will tell.

If somebody has the time to do a search in the old MTX2 threads, he'd find the exact same discussion.

I remember how I said that I wouldn't buy the MTX3 because my MTX2 was fully loaded and oh sooo fast.

Boy did I get my butt handed when the first couple of MTX3's showed up at our track.

I went from top of the field to being lapped.

I test drove one for a couple of laps and on Monday I ordered one.

The first race with the new car I was one lap faster than with my MTX2.

I expect the same thing will happen with the MTX4.

It's not what meets the eye at first sight, it's how everything works together.
