Did you shim up?
Peter,
I am still not making 5 mins. The most I will make is 4:35. I was using a Vantage Pipe but I am going to switch. I know you'll endorse the VR12 Plus and I will now run that Pipe. I did shim up adding 0.15 to the head. How many shims did you add?

Thanks

You can use a small allen or body clip to adjust the stock turnbuckles.

Awesome, brotha! Get a Sirio. I got over 1 1/2 seasons on my EVO III. Still going strong. I bought another one as a back up last year and haven't had to touch it yet. How's that Orion in you RRR doing?

Anyways, congrats! I guess we'll be seeing more info on the MTX-4 KB site

Waz up Chris-I'm using the VR12plus pipe with my N12LL3. I recently leaned out the bottom end by 2 hours hoping to save some gas but I don't think it helped. I also wasn't able to really tell for sure because I did it before the mains and didn't take a chance on pitting at 5min. If the problem is my motor and pipe combo, should I go with longer pipe or longer manifold?

If you havent alread, you may want to try and lighten up the car and figure out how to free up the drive-train more. Efficiency=longer run time.

How many gallons do you have through your LL3? Check your LSN, it may be a tad rich.

I'm not sure how many gallons I've had through it but I think I put at least 8 through it. I spent at least 1 gal for break in. I did add a pressure chamber and lean out the LSN by 2hrs, but I wasn't able to figure out any increase in time because I did this adjustment 10min before the main. I never used a pressure chamber before but it seemed that I was able to lean out the LSN 2hrs easily without drastically raising the idle.

Your engine and pipe combo seem fine. I am having the same problem you are, I may have to work on shimming the engine. I have not tried the VR12 Plus but I hope it will make me run the 5 mins at least. Anybody have any ideas on shimming the 12+3??
