The kit comes with a locker, all you need is the outdrives, and the pins that go through them.

For this track, the diff worked out better because of the really tight turns. The spool didn't help the car dive into the turns. The diff lets you roll better into them without scrubbing to much speed. The last set-up gives the car just the right amount of roll (traction). I'd get some gears and build your self a diff anyways. If you have extra cash, build two fronts with 50k & 100k and another rear with 50k (high grip tracks). That way you'll be good for most conditions.

Have any of you guys tried the 0.8 module diff gears for the MTX-4? If anybody has used them, how were they and what did you like or dislike about them. I have a set but have not put them in yet.

Thanks

I usually run 30,000 in the front diff and 10,000 in the rear. Sometimes I will go down to 5,000 in the rear. I also have never had the need to run softer tirers in the front. I alwats run either the same or harder in the front.

I run 10,000 in the rear aswell. My thinking also at the moment is that i need to get rid of the 2 hole pistons in the front shocks. I am running 600 in the front shocks aswell, but i think the it allows the front to dive to much and unsettle the rear of the car.

My understanding of this would be so that you lift the car 3mm before the wheels come off the ground from its resting ride hieght.

how do you measure the 3 mm? If you use a droop gauge what should the reading be? Currently I am at 0* on the front and 4* on the rear with ride height 4.5 front and 5.5 rear.

To measure from ride height, you use your ride height gauge. measure the ride height, compress the suspension, let it settle, then using a screwdriver or allen wrench or whatever, push the bottom of the car up from the center. As soon as the wheels lift off the board, measure again. Then check the rear droop. This is the only way to do it really.

i'd like to know this question also. does the Knack racing 0.8 module diff gears change the roll out of the car?

also what is the grading with the clutch shoes is this correct?

black; = softest, most bite
grey
yellow
red; hardest most slip

???im confused because i was told before the red was the most bite, thats why it wears out quicker. but i am now told that it is infact what i listed above. is this right?

Here's a link to a MRX4 thread that explains the differences in clutch shoes.
