it shouldn't scott!

the mtx-4 looks really good. from the last time we were talking about new cars, you mentioned you were gonna get (or try) a mugen when the 4 comes out.... well, i guess a month or two from now you will be driving a mugen!! that's an addition of a lap or two... now we're in trouble!!!

see you at the race tonight

The car looks really good. Looks like lots of changes have been made which is a good for mugen since the sedan market is so dead right now. Its time for a change and mugen is doing a good thing. Goodjob.

Get the prospec if youre getting a good price. To a normal racer I doub't the 4 will be that much of a big difference. For me I'm sticking with my prospec for at least the remainder of this season.

thanks for the input man...yeah im not that big of a racer...mainly just club races......but im going from the NTC3 to this and i hope it will be a big difference because the NTC3 is to damn brittle and i tried a belt driven car before and like it alot better then shaft......i just hope i dont get the prospec and then next year want the mtx-4 ....i will kick myself....but i prob wouldnt even notice a difference between the mtx-3 and mtx-4 performence wise...

thanks for the input man

Hello Mike_Swauger,
Which touring car engine do you run? Is it an "off the shelf" mod JP FX .12 3-port? Or is it an uber hand picked engine or is it modded differently in any way? Is this the engine you ran at the recent Nats. I'm really wanting to get one of these engines, thanks.

The car looks like it shares quite a few parts with the MTX-3 which is fine by me.

Hey Mikey,

Do you know what are the parts that can be salvaged from the 3 for the 4. My 3 is currently at the LHS on sale together with a big bag of hop up and brand new spare parts i'm giving away!!!! Hurry hurry tell, before it's all gone to the lucky buyer of my 3!!

Thanks Mike.

yeah yeah yeah, i'm gonna get a mtx4 don't worry

BUT THINGS I CAN SEE THAT THE HOP UP COMPANIES WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ARE:

-alloy "easy remove" top sections... in blue or kawahara silver
-easy remove steering ackerman plates. looks like plastic crappy annoying thingos on the mtx4 pics
-thicker shock towers
-thicker rear camber linkage carbon plate
-alloy front sway bar mounts
-alloy wheel hex hubs
-4mm chassis
-rear blade sway bar
-leight weight shafts
-cvd's!!?? PLEASE MUGEN, DON'T BE TIGHT AND INCLUDE THESE IN THE KITS

yeah, i'm getting one. but i recon i'll end up hopping it up to a prospec anyway

Summary of what i noticed and findings from mugenracing.com...

1. Easy removal system for front and rear diff (that's a real plus for last minute settings at the track)
2. Longer rear lower arms (5.5mm) like RRR - better road holding and stability.
3. Angled front upper/lower arms - higher Roll Center = better stability.
4. Wider shock mount angles = better stability & more precise tuning capbility.
5. Lower CG tank, forwarded fuel lid and center of upper deck location = better weight balance/easy refuelling
6. Wider rear body mounts = improved stability
7. shorter steering rod = quicker response
etc, etc

Any more???

8. Larger capacity Battery pack. 5-cell 2/3A = 1100mAh (or more)
