I am sticking with the plastics.

Scott, good run at the WWUP. I wish I could have made it but oh well. We are going to try and make it out for the Paris race. If everything works out, I will be there.

Default Skyline Universals

Just want to give a heads up on the the Skyline universals. I've had some pretty nasty crashes already with my car where I ripped the front lower arm and shock off the car with no damage to the universals. They're even bent. They're holding up great. I can't say if it's better than the Mugen universals since I haven't tried them but from my experience with Kyosho universals on my V-One RRR they are more durable. Maybe someone can relate the universals in some way with that information.

I just found them in the option sheet. Thanks

Also I heard that the first kits came with two side belts. Are they only selling one because my 4 only came with one side belt? The #'s on my side belt are 27 then a space then R5A and a space then 030. The kit # is T0267. Is there another one that you are using?

Some of what I going to say I know for fact, some is what I think.

I got one of the first kits that had two side belts in it. It had the T0267 urethane belt, and the T0270 rubber belt. My kit also came with two side pulleys. One had 23teeth and the other had 24 teeth. The T0270 belt came in a supplemental parts bag that had an instruction in it to use the 24 tooth side pulley and to use the rubber belt that was in that extra bag. The rubber belt is longer than the urethane belt. When using a 23 tooth side pulley you need to run aprox 6.5mm tire split to have zero overdrive. Using a 24 tooth pulley you run aprox 2.5mm tire split to have zero overdrive. Using a 25 tooth pulley you run aprox zero split to have zero overdrive. Using a 24 tooth pulley, the urethane belt, fits over the pulleys, but rubs on the exhaust manifold. I have not tried the 23 tooth pulley because I don't want to run such a gigantic tire split. I think Mugen figured that out as well, so they just said to use the 24 tooth pulley and included the rubber belt which is longer. Because it is longer you put the belt tensioner down far which then clears the exhaust manifold. I have not tried it, but my guess is that the rubber belt will fit with the 25 tooth pulley as well. I also think that more people will use the 24 or 25 tooth pulleys. I don't even know if Mugen sells the urethane side belt, because like I said it only can be used with the 23 tooth pulley that probably nobody will use.

I am only using the T0270 rubber belt.

Hi Joe, they should have them around next week. I will let you and everyone know when they are available since I need a set for myself.

Skyline is also considering an aftermarket chassis for the car. Maybe a stiffer one to take out the twitchy nature of the car.

Default Side Brace

Is anybody working on a side brace for the exhaust side? I have heard (don't know for sure) that the chassis tweaks easily and not having a brace on both side may contribute to this. It does not look like an easy piece to make.

Any opinions on this?

Have you tried the car yet? Mine doesn't need a chassis brace around the exhaust. The MTX3 didn't carried a chasis brace there and the same for 4.

Question for you all. How much intrest would there be in a chassis of this type for the MTX4. The picture is an RRR chassis, but with enough intrest I am sure one could be made for the 4.

I'm not sure I would like to buy that...... If you look closely the chassis has less meat on the side area, especially near the engine area. The chassis might bent at impacts...... not beefy.
