That's what I have been told:

Mugen weight /10 - 5 = AE weight

i.e. 600/10-5=55wt

Hi Chris, is your Nova RR12L3 a modified or tuned version ? One of my LHS guys used a N12LL3 Tuned and it was ballasticly fast !

By the way, what do you mean by ticking time bombs ? Explosively fast like a bomb or has a short life span ? Thanks...

I haven't tried a JP yet... thought of getting one cause the MTX4 handles so well and can handle and throttle through crazy racing lines that i thought of putting a JP into this baby ! I'm using a NovaMax modified right now...

Happy Racing !
My enginge is standard apart from the heatsink which is a carlsen 11 fin.
By ticking time bomb i mean short lifespan, plus my L3 is just as fast as the JPs ive raced against so i dont really see why people brag about them, because your not limited to a 3 port id acually get a N12LL5 it gives you a little bit more power than a LL3 and still has the 4 grooves in the piston and if other racers at the club you race use 5 ports get a 5 port just to keep up with them but theres nothing stopping you from getting a FX12-T05 .

Chris

Chris
IF your rules allow more ports than 3, here in the States, 3 port is limit for ROAR sanctioned events !!!!

Mugen shocks are great to assemble without any hassle and they work superbly!! They are well made and durable. My only complain is if the piston hole adjusting thing is incorporated as like the snakes'.. they would be the best shocks!!!!!

Hello friend,
Which area of the old click type serpent shocks have you experienced difficulty fixing? : Heh heh!

Hello Brother/Vinyard,
Does this mean that we can also race .15 size locally?

Vinyard and the others seems to swear by Max. Is JP difficult to tune, idle, run properly? My old JP S5 works great -no tuning needed. Just run the same everytime. But doesnt' scream like my max.

JP and Max are Novarossi based engines, so they are not harder to tune. You have little "window of good tuning" with novarossi engines but it's do able.

I'm not sure Max engines screamed better than JP engines today..... maybe you use Max.15 - P7 ?

Yes I do use the max.15. I agree with you. My old JP S5 can't scream like the max 12s.

Do you or anyone knows why the crank of these engines aren't balanced like the bigger 21s?

I know you like them. No denial that serpent looks great! But I would rather spend my time just fixing a good kit and get it to run rather have to 'customize' the given parts to fit/get it work better. Too much hassle. Maybe you like the 'hassle' .. not me. IMAO!

Disclaimer: this my very very personal opinion. No offense to serpent owners. I did own one too.

Dun think we can race the .15 leh. you can try.. i promise i wun rat if you win .

The JP S5 is a great engine. I like the engine too, and given a chance i would to own one too. Prob more towards the new FX nova base JP engines that are giving problems.

But.. i think i manage to run circles round you with me Max and you on JP ..hehe.. j/k

I expect that you did not answer my question. To answer your assumptions, I love my mrx4. You know, I think we should fight it out in TTC, which is quite dead now!

Hi Titanium R !

Welcome back ! Got a question. Did you actually own a JP12S5 and compare it with a Max12S5 or a Max15 ?

By comparing a JP12S5 with Max15 size don't sound right lehh ? ... Hmmm

Happy Racing !
