While performing my duties of MTX-4 Durability Tester, I have broken a few parts and would like to report. when stalled upside down in th middle of the straight-away, and hit by an 8th scale doing full speed, the breakage is as follows, Rear hinge pin holder, and rear shock shaft(lost spring and spring holder thingy).
Once again, upside down and sliding towards and hitting the wall traveling backwards at say 25-30 mph, broken shock tower, and rear A-arm. Not too bad, I was somewhat dissapointed in the shock tower breaking though. I have been heard saying(today actually) that I didn't think it was an issue and wouldn't put the 3 mm one on til I broke the stock one. Well, the car is now equipped with the speedline 3mm Rear shock tower. A fun day of racing, can't wait for the mains tomorrow.
Happy racing everybody

that pretty much concluded the durability test real tough! Have you checked the chassis yet?

I've been racing my Mtx-4 for 2 club night racing & haven't broke a part yet (knock on wood ). I already broke the fastest lap that I did with my MTX-3 I love this car

Default cude and the mtx-4

If you drove like a rookie you broke like a rookie.stay off the lexan and stay on the tires , you should go faster.but thats my opinion.but regardless of your opinion of the car i'm going to get one.I know your opinion of the car was good.but thats besides the point, I think mugen is the best car out there.

That Kawahara body looks nice, but I would be willing to bet it is not ROAR legal.

The car seems to be a little more sensitive to setup changes. It has a lot better acceleration because of the new gearing. It seems to be faster on the track, but is a little more fragile. There are a couple of weak points(rear shock tower/probably more). The eccentrics to adjust the belt tension are a good idea, but it is hard to tell when they are "keyed" into the bulkhead caps. I believe this car will spank the RRRRRRRRR in the worlds. If I am wrong, I will buy myself the first round at the bar that night.

There are a few homemade mods you can do to the MTX-4... For instance, the quick shock release are good, but also its one of the weak points of the "S" car. You can probably mount them like you do in the MTX-3. Rear and Front shock tower, 4mm is a must. Most of the Mugen racers in my track, havent done this to their MTX-3/4, but in the turnbuckles of steering, you can use a long screw that goes through the ball link and tighten it with a nut. I'll garantee youll never have a loose turnbuckle again.

I may not own a MTX-4, but these are the "must have" home fixes one could deduce from just seeing the car.
