OK step 1) remove the one-way it will pull straight out from the pull start unit with a little force.

2)themetal plug that pushes into the outer side of the pullstart has to be removed, use a flat blade knife or similar and pry it out gently...i repeat gently.

3)The pulley that holds the starter cord will now pull away from the housing and in doing so a flat metal spring about 80-90cm will pop out trying to rip your eye out in the process.

4) IS IT BROKEN? both ends should have a tang (a bend) in them
one end locates in the middle of the pulley and one end locates in the corner of the housing.

5) if you reckon undoing a bra is frustrating, wait till you try to get these back on!.

you need to wind the spring back onto the pulley so it is real tight.
when it is, locate the housing end back on the housing, now without losing any spring tension you need to place the pulley back in the housing.Thats the hard bit over.

now wind the pulley around so it wants to retract, when youve done this re attach the pull cord and it should be right.

Bear with me here as I just pulled down a perfectly good pullstarter to help you out.

All the above may take several attempt but persevere, alternativelyring your LHS and explain the situation and they may charge just a small fee to help you out and fix it.

If the spring is broken as long as you havent lost more than say 5cm you should be able to re-use the spring, just put a new bend into it to locate it.

hope that helps sl

ps; where did the name "sausage link" come from??????

Foam Steering
FUTM0102 S9402 Hi Speed Mtl Gear 89/.13 111/.10 Dual 1.6X.8X1.5 1.90

rubber steering
FUTM0098 S9405 Hi Torque Mtl Gear 81/.14 100/.14 Dual 1.6X.8X1.5 1.90

these arent cheap but theyre good, the only way up from here is digital!

I wouldnt go crazy on the throttle/brake servo the power os the gs15 wouldnt justify it.
