Are you using Evolva clutchbell gears or Inferno GT clutchbell gears? Believe it or not, the pitch between the two type of clutchbell gears are slightly different and if you are using the Evolva clutchbell gears and Inferno GT spur gears, it could be one of your issues. Are your clutchbell gears old and knife-edged? If they have knife-edged and the mesh is off a little, torq or a flex in the chassis could cause enough separation in the mesh to possibly cause the stripping issue. Check your motor mount bolts to make sure your engine is secure to the mounts. Check the motor mount chassis screws as well. I have had issues with them vibrating out of one mount from the bottom thus causing the engine to shift and strip my spur gears.

The Kyosho VS058 clutch bell is not from the Evolva, it's from the FW05 1/10 scale chassis. If the VS058 if the clutch bell you're using, check to see if the bell is actually coming in contact with the 2nd gear spur's two shoe drum and not allowing a good mesh of both 1st & 2nd. If the bell is hitting the drum, it will rock back & forth which will not allow you to get an even mesh.

Another thing you can try if the above is not the issue, is to check if there is enough free travel of adjustment of the car's engine mounts.

Try using the old "paper between the gears trick" and physically hold the engine up against the spurs while tightening the engine mount. A lot of times things can move around in the process.

The last thing I can think of is, maybe running a 17/21 (4 tooth split) might be too much vs the 46/43 (3 tooth split). I know it wasn't an issue with our old Blackhawk rig, you could actually run as high as a 5 tooth split or as little as 3 tooth split without any problems...... but that's a whole different animal with a lot more gearing/spur options.

Post a few good pictures, maybe we can see what else it could be that's hanging ya up. Good luck!

All excellent points to consider too.

The FM pinions which are the evolva. I think it's a mesh issue and a clearance thing.

Yes, the pitch of the FM pinion gears don't mesh up precisely to the pitch of the Inferno spur gears. You will either have to use the IG pinion gears or mod your transmission to fit the Evolva spur gears (which makes up the Blackhawk transmission that use to be produced).

Gracias
