I understand your points guys, specially about the other cars being dialed, but I believe these new cars are using superior electronics, motors, bodies, tires than most ntc3 racers ever used back then.... My ntc3 will incorporate all the best products out there, and lots of my personal upgrades, and I want the other cars to be dialed when I attempt to beat them... It won't be easy, but I think it's posdible... Here is another solution: ceramic 5/32 two speed balls ! I doubt that anybody ran those ! Also double edge thin tape in the two speed housing... GQ tires, Spektrum radio, Jr servos .06 (throttle and steering), ABmods jlr tuned engine, etc..... The hardest thing will be to get close to 1550grams, while other cars can dip under 1500grams.....

I'll be happy with 1620grams ! I'll also be using a lipo RX pack(64grams), Protoform R5 body, Niftech titanium shaft , etc..... Wish me luck !!! I will also let a few pro drivers drive my car to see what they think.....

bertrandsv87 - I think this forum would a more appropriate place for you to talk about your NTC3.

All i can say is good luck. I fiddled with mine ALOT and still got 2 extra laps just taking the guts out and dropping into a used, box setup nt1 08.
Had aftermarket chassis, kfactory bulkheads/brake, kfactory swingrack, vcs2 shocks with bladders. Gave up on aluminum trans cases. They shit, broke two. Went back to carbon.
Brand new savox servos, reedy life pack, os12tr-t, protoform p37-n, jaco foams.
Car was fast but didnt turn equally or consistantly. Very simple car but not as configurable as my xray.

Ill keep it and play with it for sure.

As far as the Nitro TC3, it is a good, beginning club track race car. It is now very long in the tooth and in comparison to the current crop of cars, you have to invest a lot of money to make it anywhere close to being competitive. But, if you want a good, bonifide car for small/medium club track racing in your locale at a much lower cost than the high-end cars, you can't beat the NTC3. The NTC3 had its day in the sun for big track racing.

The ntc3 has a huge roll center problem with the stock arm mounts, and if you trim them down to the lowest possible level, the ntc3 will turn and handle better... As far as power plant, ABmods or other proven tuners is the way to go, but I doubt you'll be able to get the AE clutch and two speed to bite the way it should without the thin double edge tape.... Valk, most of the so called upgrades are really not necessary, just ways to make people spend more for nothing... Real upgrades are those who further the adjustability of the car, and not replacing carbon with stiffer bling... AE should try to extend the adjustability of the car with new parts or some sort of upgrade package, but not a new car...... If you make use of your local machinist, you will be able to improve your car's adjustability yourself.....

The high roll center makes the ntc3 slide too much around the turns instead of rolling through them. If Ae fixes that issue alone, it will bring the ntc3 back from the dead !!!

I hope for Bertrand ae puts together a modern take of a 1:10 nitro tourer and gives him one FREE for testing and being such a great supporter. A week later and we'll be laughing about how polite so many ppl have been about the old horse. There's lots of us that have an attachment to our early cars, me being one of them. However, it's always more economical to buy a race spec kit, 2nd hand even, than it is to mod and hop up an RTR.
