if you're thinking of getting the Mugen, get the updated kit (T2002).it will come with all the revised parts, most importantly the steel diff gears.but honestly, the composite gears rocks!but like esckalayd mentioned,a lil bit of work and discipline is needed to maintain these composite gears.as for the stripping gear problem, make sure u put a 0.1-0.2 shim in between the 1st and 2nd speeds so as to eliminate the movement of the shaft.that's all i can offer you as for now for the Mugen.

like i say, this car has massive potential and tunability.i drove the NT1 2012 and the MTX5,the NT1 is great, consistent but predictable.whereas the MTX5,it just has that slight edge when you need to push.

In 2013, the minimum weight will drop to 1650grams OR 1550grams ???? 1550grams seems too low to reach down from 1725grams!!!!

1550g...its pretty nuts but a lot of cars with low pro servos and LiFe batteries can get down to around 1650g with no problem:

Please give some ideas:
MTX5 (2012)
or
NT1 (2012)
or
V10 twelve?

NT1- proven design, metal diffgears, good transmission and gearbox, engine installed does not move (thats why i stick with the NT1, only car that has it), spurs do not strip ever, constant development with wise mods, 1 million setup sheets available for everyone, comparison setup with others is easy to get better, na selfmade brace`s or others is needed,
car doesn`t change every year so it will last you at least 5 years, great wear rate with parts, car has great crass resistance, it will not break, lightweight parts already available for purchase to get you the next year weightlimit.

Do i need to say more? Now go buy it. The wc edition.
except maybe that i think that the MTX5 looks great and the 747 looks also great.

I am running a LiFe battery, composite diffs, and i still need a 30g weight to make weight. At state events i weigh in around 1735-1745 depending on what tires i go with.
but mine with body shell,tyre(fr-61mm+rr-63mm),ni-mh batt(1100mah) and transponder only 1760grams

Are there any cars out there that can get lighter than 1550grams , race ready????? I doubt it !!! This rule went too far ! It would have been better to not have a minimum weight...lol....

No issue for the Cap car:

In it's current setting the car would even be below the 1500 gram mark if I would remove all the extra weights.

Regarding the car choice, the Capricorn is the only car which is faultless right out of the box, all the other cars need some sort of hop up to make it work.
The NT1 is on a comparable level in terms of quality and reliability but if you ask me it needs a different set of shocks and and a different clutch to be on the same level as the Capricorn.

Mugen, if there is smoke there must be fire!!

The choice is yours, do you want to run the risk of investing cash on a car that you need to spend hours trying to keep running on a race day, or invest in a car that works out the box and is proven. I love Mugen and run a X and have been for years. Will stay away from the MTX4 though.

At the end of the day it does not matter how good it looks but what it will do on the day. And there is nothing more frustrating for racers stripping gears whilst running amain finals, and I have seen plenty of MTX's do that.

In terms of support, keep the practical amount of running spares, dont switch brands 10 times a year, stay on the track... you will be ok.

Capricorn and Xray. the bonus is a Capricorn looks the part though.

Talking

The decision is taken and Just ORDERED the CAPRICORN LAB C02!
I really like this car and as far I reed on internet is the best solution for My opinion.
The only problem is that there is no dealer in Greece and all spare parts will have to be ordered from internet.
If any owner would like to give some informations about the set up it will be appreciated!
The track conditions are:
i) Medium Grip
ii) Technical
iii) Fast.

I really would like to thank You all for the help and I hope that I took the right decision!
