Your track is similar size to the track that Tony runs on in Porter Tx. There are pictures on RCTech if you go to the states, Texas and look at the South West Series. (nice group of racers, and pretty fast as well)
Wow.. that is a long straight...

I raced at Homestead and yea boy that is a long straight. I put the car on cruise control when I hit the straight to rest my trigger finger. It's too long in my opinion.

Gus, I've never run there, but I think you are probably right. Tracks like this back in the day is why some of the 4wd open cars started playing with 3 speeds ...... Don't think we need that again.

We just came from Homestead and I had heard how long the straight was prior to going. Once I got there and got a chance to run it I didn't think it was all that bad. We had a blast on the track. You guys missed a great race.

I'd have to agree. The straight away is long but not that much longer than my home track Gulf Coast Raceway in Porter, Tx. Also the infield has plenty of variations making for very exciting race action. Either way Homestead was a great track and provide some really good grip. I can't wait to go back next year!

Mark,
I ran the same gearing I tend to run at Gulf Coast. 44/49 with 16/20. I tried a 15/19 but liked the 16/20 better. I saw several running a 44/48 with 15/19 and they were fine. You missed a great race. The track was hooked up and the racing was close. We are all talking about going the the Bryon's Challenge again in Chicago. I'm not sure if they have set the date for that race yet.

Thanks!

Sounded like the Texas crew had a good time. The Byrons race should be similar again, it has been the past 2 years. Hey any truth about a race in Houston in April????

That's right! It was a good race. I think his year there will be a lot more racers. It feels like the buzz for 1/8 GT is growing.
