freezing your pipe

I wondered, does the trick of freezing your exhaust with water in it to remove dents affect the performance of the pipe?

Gonzo RR 04-16-2012 10:57 AM

I've done this to my pipes a few times.... no performance issues

^same.

It is wise to use some garden hose clamps arround the pipe so it wiil not blow up to much.

The exhaust tip of
My pipe is pushed in. Would this fix it?

I never thought of that, thanks Roelof

I also do freezing trick for dented pipe.

However, I also wonder if there is performance increase ( or decrease ) , because my pipe become chubbier after the freezing trick.

chubbier = more rounder, more volume.

Hows that work? The ice inside will push the dent out? ineresting, thx!

Close outlet, the pressure nipple, fill with water and close the inlet - freeze overnight.

I made plugs out of a cork from a wine bottle and the pressure nipple (where you attach the pipe going to your tank) I close with a small screw

I know the way to close all the inlet and fill with water. But I don't know how big the outward force can push the dent out from the ice? interesting:blush:

It has quite a lot of force - a friend of mine kept on freezing one of his pipes to take out a small pin tipe dent (the freezing method can't remove those) and eventualy the pipe bursted ....

The next time I try this I may only fill the pipe to where I want the dent removed. Our pipe blew out to a chubby state as well and one would think that the narrower end of the pipe would freeze first.
