Let me guess ?? shorter engine life because of higher rpm (i.e. higher wear rate). It's no problem as long as the engine is screaming very loud and fast too.

Yes, that's a CVEC.
Well, since you mentioned that engine life is out of the question for you, might as well cut off the WHOLE stinger, that's what I meant actually.
The stinger on my stock AE side exhaust pipe came off in a crash, so I just ran my stock AE .12 3-port without the stinger. The engine was freaking loud, and freaking fast too, I was able to run alongside a RB 5-port turbo... But the conrod snapped 3 months after, and the debris get caught in between the sleeve and crankcase... So go figure, and experiment at your own risk. Have fun!
