Questions?? Help! Need advice and suggestions for 1/8 onroad motor

So, I've gotten rid of my other toys and saved up enough to drop some money on a motor for my Serpent 966. For those of you who are familiar or know anyone who has any of these engines, what would be the best bang for my buck. Here's the list of engines I'm considering:

- Novarossi FLASH .21
- Novarossi 35 plus 21
- Novarossi N21-3T
- Novarossi 353 Race Plus 2
- Novarossi KANGAROO
- MEGA ZX 21 DS3
- Capricorn Q12ET
- RB Concept CLASSICO
- Max Power (Fantini Modified) XL9 TQ
- Mugen Seiki .21 Ninja MR

Your help in making a sound decision is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your feedback

Thanks Nitro. I see a few variations of this motor (orange, blue, purple heads). Any thoughts on any or all 3?

Orange = gold is the Lamberto edition. It is tuned and something between std PLUS and Flash. I would say that you don't need it.

BLUE = old color of Novarossi. You can still see this in some shops, but it only means that it has been there for years.

Purple = the color today. This is what you most propably will have if you buy a new engine.

the engines i listed in red are Touring car (1/10th) Engines. along with the OS 21XZ speed, i would also consider REDS Racing M7T. i would not bother with the N21-3T, considering the engines on the list, i think you would be dissapointed with that choice.

Does anyone happen to know any info on how well the Novarossi Keep-On .21 Engine 9 Port Turbo XLong Stroke engine performs? Compared with the other engines listed above?

Thanks 99. Is there a big difference between the Keep On and the Flash in terms of performance? I see on most sites the price point are almost identical, just don't know which one I should go with.

Choice is simple buy a Novarossi Engine. Quality product, good parts support, available at most major online retailers and they are actually worth rebuilding if you wear out the piston and sleeve set.

Just depends on your budget.

You will never need more than this motor to club race. Spend the extra money and get a prerun/factory broken in motor. It is worth it just based on the amount of time you save.

If your on a budget this motor is amazing and unless you are on a large track or trying to compete with national level drivers this motor is more than enough. One of top local guys in our area used this motor as practice engine and was amazed at performance for the price.
