Default Nitro Car

Well first of all hello as this is my first post in this forum...

I want to buy a 1/10 nitro car(i 've decided that i want nitro since i 've seen the pros and cons and have no problem with high maintenance) but i dont know which one...
I want a fast car and some starter tools to cost me in total $500-$600...
Also i heard that its better to assemble your own car as you learn many things this way but as i havent done anything similar to this and i dont have any technical knowledge to do it, some friends told me i should buy an RTR car as its really hard to assemble one... But i have the time and the will to do it myself... What would you suggest?

Its not hard to assemel most cars. I could have put mine together in a day if I had no school. But 600 is enouf to get a good rtr. You should try the new rs4 3 .18ss. With a nice radio and starter equitment you should be well under your 600 limit.

If you are looking into getting a pretty fast car, some tools, and a radion and stay within $500-$600, get the Associated NTC3 Plus. It has the new rear end that is on the updated Factory Team kit version of the car and runs about $350 on average in most local hobby stores. With fuel, a glow ignitor, batteries for the transmitter and receiver, and a couple of extra tools, you should be around $425, give or take. Plus, it is a very competitive car that you can race at the big races as well as bash at home or at local club races. The HPI RS4-3 is mainly a basher that you can race at the club-track level, but you have to put in a lot of monies into that car to try to be competitive at the club track and it is no where close to a big track car.

are you going to race or just parking lot bashing? The RS4 3 is a good beginer's car.It all depends on what you want to do , bash around and do doughnuts in your drive way or if you want to race .

Yea if youre racing stick with either the Cd3 ld3 or Ntc3 right now those are the best racing RTR's. If your limit is 600 just stick with a rtr and when you do start racing save up for a motor and other goddies. Racing aint cheap between my ld3 and my r40 ive put 1300 into them.

Don't concern yourself with max speed (How fast will it go). Concentrate on learning your car, getting with racers that run the car to get some good set-up tips, tricks to help the car perform better, etc., and work on the driving skills first. Running with speed will come in time but if you are more worried about the max speed of the car and are planning on racing, you are starting with one foot in the hole already. The main thing is practice, practice, practice the driving skills!!

NTC3 is the best performance over price, even the stock is fast enought if you tune the engine well

There were some magazine tests done in the past few months on both the Factory Team NTC3, and also the RTR NTC3 Plus.......from memory i think the top speed of the Factory Team car was about 61mph......the RTR Plus was in the 50mph range.
Keep in mind top speed wont be everything if youre planning on racing, you`ll really want some hard acceleration.
Keep in mind also that the Factory Team NTC3 doesnt have an engine supplied, so performance will depend on how much youre willing to outlay on a motor.....you`ll also need a starter box for Factory Team car.
Hope this helps a bit
Cheers
